Who is Evil A
Founded in 2023 by Andrew Levine, Evil A is the creative alias of a South African-born, UK-based artist. The brand first sparked as a design school project in 2004, when an assignment to create a logo led Andrew to a discovery: the word 'EVIL' was already tucked inside his own name. What began as a t-shirt graphic in a classroom has evolved into a full-scale pursuit of technical perfection and dark humor, primarily manifested through limited designer art toys, prints, and merchandise.
Evil A makes art for the naughty kid at the back of the class. Each piece is a technical pursuit with engineering and the perfect subversion, a voice for the villain. Drawing inspiration from the bold, high-contrast aesthetics of 90s and early 2000s skate, surf, and street culture, merging the dark with a calculated sense of humour.
Taking the mundane and the 'safe' popular culture icons or sacred symbols of order, and reveal the sinister, evil energy hiding just beneath the sugar coating. Evil A's process is a balance of opposites. Using rigid perfectionism, the pursuit of clean finishes and familiarity to house chaotic themes. Creating for the outcasts and the lovers of monsters who hide in plain sight, proving that in a world of boring heroes, the villain is always the most interesting person in the room.
Evil A is currently exploring Fast Food Kills: a debut toy series where your favorite take aways becomes the villain. Crashing fast food icons into a world of crime, this collection features the technically-perfected silhouettes of Felon Fries, Gangster Gulp, Murder Mac, and many more. Fast food has never looked this dangerous.
Evil produces limited small-run of resin printed and hand-made pieces, made available online to collectors worldwide.
